신비한 현상과 아름다운 모습에 대한 감탄은 사뭇 비슷한듯 하면서도 미묘한 차이가 있는듯 합니다.

저의 생각에는 ‘초현실주의(Surrealism)’에 가까운 작품이 아닌가하는 생각이 듭니다. ‘주관적인 나(Ich : I)를 우주의 중심(the subjective Ich as the center of the universe)’으로 하는 ‘표현주의(Expressionism)’ 가 주장하는 곳에서 ‘다다이즘(Dadaism)’에서는 ‘행하여 흐르는 우주적인 것 안에서 ‘상대적인 자아를 의식하여(conscious of the relativity of their own egos within the flux of becoming), 기념하기 위해 처분할 수 있는 예술작품(’disposable‘ works of art)창조 하였고, 이에 이어 ‘초현실주의(Surrealism)’도 나타난 것 같습니다. (Where the Expressionists were frequently afflicted by a messianic consciousness which showed itself politically in their desire to be leaders of ‘redeemed communities’, aesthetically in their desire to assert the subjective Ich as the center of the universe, the Dadaists were always conscious of the relativity of their own egos within the flux of becoming. 선생님이 말씀하신 것을 '초현실 주의(Surrealism)'으로 이해해도 되는 지요,,, Unlike the Dadists who deliberately drew attention to the vulnerability of the psyche to invasion by chaos, Breton argued that it was external circumstances that often responded to the unspoken demands and desires of the human psyche. From the notion ‘of le hasard’, Breton thus moved on to that of ’le hasard objectif ( objective chance ) All surrealists exalt love as the archetypal surrealist act because it brings about the seemingly impossible fusion of the ‘’self with the ‘other’, because it is perpetual challenge to the life-denying equation of the useful with the good and because it is the supreme manifestation of the pleasure principle. from “Dada and Surrealism” by Robert short in ‘Modernism’ (pp307~308) Edited Malcom Bradbury and James MacFarrlane #참고로 선생님은 충분히 영어를 해석하실 수 있는 분이라 생각하였기에 번역을 생략함에 양해를 부탁드립니다.
